“Where Have All The Witches (On YouTube) Gone?” (FROM MY SAGE’S CORNER SERIES)

As modern-day witches, and those of you magickally-inclined readers who frequent my blog, I think we can all agree that a lot has changed over the last five to ten years with YouTube and its algorithm of pushing certain channels to the forefront over others, regardless of the the topics, the quality of content, the number of subscribers, or the particular niche of that channel. And this is certainly no exception for the spiritual and pagan-centered channels in the YouTube “witchy community.”
I can certainly remember
seeing countless numbers of self-proclaimed, born and bred, formerly and non-formerly initiated, and overall proud witches and working
spiritual practitioners on YouTube back in 2015. It was certainly an exciting
time for me as I was undergoing yet another spiritual awakening wherein my
spiritual gifts and abilities were coming out of their once dormant and suppressed
state in full force, and I was led by Spirit to find other witches, healers and empaths
online for a sense of community and inspiration, as there was no such support for
me offline at the time.
YouTube used to be a safe place for us witches! Those of us who were “out of the broom closet,” and those of us who were still in it, although peaking out of it from time to time to support those of us who were bold enough to publicly teach and share their particular knowledge and special niche of the craft online.
Then there were the witches
like me, who were somewhere “in the middle” of the two. However, fast forward
to now, in 2021, and most of the veteran and even fairly new witches and their channels
have all but disappeared on YouTube, so I find myself asking, “Where have all the
Witches of YouTube gone? I don’t know for sure. But I certainly have my own
assumptions or beliefs which I will ponder in this blog article.
I BELIEVE MANY OF THE
WITCHES OF YOUTUBE HAVE LEFT BECAUSE THEY WERE EXPOSED AS FRAUDS!
Yeah, I said it! Clutch your pearls if you must! But 2015 was a very important
year spiritually-speaking for a lot of us empaths, healers and witches who were
awakening from the slumber that fell upon us from attempting to force ourselves
into a state of status quo conformity in the Matrix. Many of us had either begun to awaken either for the first time, or in my case, for the second. We had also begun to lose patience over how we were living our lives
and what we had settled for regarding our quality of life and living in our life's purpose. Suddenly, everything in our lives began to fall apart
and fall away to make room for the new.
And for those of us who are real and authentic witches and healers on real and authentic spiritual journeys, we understand this very scary but necessary process of the "break downs" which are necessary for the "break throughs!" This is why I don't trust these so-called "Google witches" and these fake camera-ready IG model witches who come online, particularly on Instagram and YouTube pretending as though everyday in a witch's life is unicorns and fairy dust with their heavily-edited and nature-scenic videos pushing this superficial and glamorous persona of what real life is for an authentic witch! These individuals are utterly fake and unrealistic AF and I call bullshit! 😕
What’s most interesting however,
is that at the same time that many of us empaths, healers and witches had begun to
awaken both individually and collectively and come online to share our esoteric
knowledge and once hidden practices, so did many of the counterfeits posing as authentic empaths, healers and witches. However,
as time passed many members of the spiritual community began to discern those
of us who were truly genuine and authentic from those among us who had simply
infiltrated the witchy and spiritual community to create a “hustle” and to make a fast
buck!
This led to the proverbial “Clash of the Titans,” where many of the authentic witches on YouTube began to call out the fakery. Other authentic witches found themselves being baited into “witch wars” with these fake witches and justifiably fighting back with many of them who were none other than Freemasons, Luciferians & Satanists posing as service-oriented healers and witches and they are not! However, they came online in droves and hid inside the YouTube spiritual community only pretending to offer their services and to teach and inspire “baby witches” and others about certain aspects of the craft.
As a
side note, I would like to address the issue of how many folks get it twisted
thinking that “all witches and magicians are the same,” because we are not! There is an unfortunate but wide sweeping assumption that we witches are all evil (or lower vibrational)
and that we all want to cast spells on everyone just to control and to hurt people, and we all
do not! In fact, the word "Witch" in its original, denotative meaning, simply means “wise woman,”
or wise as in occult and mystery knowledge, that sacred knowledge that was passed down from generation to
generation through oral tradition and sacred family and cultural practices.
However, despite the true
authentic meaning of the word, we genuine and authentic witches get and have always gotten a bad
reputation for having spiritual gifts to heal, to manifest, and to defend oneself.
But this is simply because these spiritual gifts were taught, passed down, and
practiced outside of the oppression and societal control of every patriarchal,
governmental, and religious system of the time that our ancestors and we have had
to live in.
It was witches, not Christians and other religious folks who were burned at the stake for
being “a threat to the system.” Yet throughout time and history, we witches and healers have always been and
continue to be the proverbial scapegoat by those who have a vested interest in
upholding the system of organized religion and control. Likewise, we have also all
been thrown into the pot with the dark magicians and Satanists who, unlike us, use their
spiritual gifts primarily to violate others and to destroy their free will which oftentimes
also include ritually sacrificing these innocent and unsuspecting individuals
and targeted populations to gain more power! 😡
So, I say all of that to say that just as in the days of old, so it occurs today that whenever you have two opposing forces attempting to occupy the same space, and in this case that space being the spiritual community on YouTube, and whenever you have one side who is seen as a threat to the other side and the other side's agenda, you are going to have wars!
It is just so
unfortunate, in my opinion, that these “witch wars” on YouTube led to so many
authentic and very inspiring witches deleting their channels and leaving the spiritual and witchy community on YouTube. They left simply because they had grown weary of the constant attacks,
the widespread confusion and distractions, the watering down and bastardizing
of the spiritual community and its original intent to teach and to serve, and
the overall fuckery of what the witchy community had become. And although I miss them dearly, I certainly cannot blame them!
I ALSO BELIEVE THAT MANY WITCHES OF YOUTUBE LEFT THE PLATFORM BECAUSE THEY GOT TIRED OF THEIR CHANNELS AND THEMSELVES BEING TARGETED AND ATTACKED BY CRAZY PEOPLE!
Sadly, I’ve often witnessed (and experienced) that whenever you are a beacon of light that shines in an ocean
of darkness in a particular environment, no matter where that environment is you will always have a shit load of Children of The Corn come from out
of the woodworks to attack you in some form or fashion. And while it is true that
only the strong survive, there comes a point to where the strong becomes weary and
gets tired of fighting stupid shit and crazy people! *Can I get an Ase' for the coven members in the back?*
This was certainly the case during the
constant wave of “witch wars” that took place on YouTube from 2015 to 2019 wherein a lot of
inauthentic fake witches left the scene. Unfortunately, so did a lot of
authentic healers and witches as well. This left a majority of
authentic witches who chose to remain on YouTube, open and vulnerable to
attack with little to no help from “the YouTube police” to restore order and
decorum on the spiritual YouTube streets!” 😏
As a result, many veteran
and newbie Witches of YouTube who had once felt liberated and welcomed to speak out about topics and
issues affecting the spiritual and witchy community both online and offline were
suddenly receiving strikes against their channels unable to contest false
accusations being made against them and the part that they played in defending
themselves during the “witch wars” they they were deliberately baited and lured
into. Likewise, when they began to complain about the unfair treatment and about having
their spiritual and witchy channels unfairly flagged and their rights to free
speech censored, they also began to have their channels, some on which they had
built a very loyal and large fanbase suddenly shadow banned.
These unfortunate actions resulted in myself and other fellow witches, healers and supporters witnessing the
decreasing visibility of some of our favorite witches on YouTube, because the
spiritual and witchy online community went from being a safe and liberating
place to learn from other witches and to be inspired, into a royal shit show
that rivaled the then top reality shows on VH1! *smh* 😔
If that wasn’t enough,
these very brave, but battle-weary witches were experiencing increasing battles
with cybertrolls, demanding and delusional clients and customers, on and
offline stalkers, and petty “keyboard gangsters” who became obsessively
fascinated with bullying them on their YouTube channels and their other social media
platforms. The online harassment and cyberstalking took a turn for the worse,
however, when these Children of The Corn members began “doxing” them,
endangering the lives of their families, their homes, and their overall
well-being and livelihood, and forcing many of them to quit YouTube altogether for
their own safety and sanity!
LASTLY, I BELIEVE MANY
WITCHES OF YOUTUBE HAVE LEFT BECAUSE THEY HAVE FOUND SAFER AND MORE SUPPORTIVE
PLATFORMS TO PROVIDE THEIR SERVICES AND TO PERFORM THEIR SERVICE WORK!
This brings me to my last assumption or theory regarding why I believe many witches and healers have since left the YouTube spiritual and witchy community. I believe they left because they simply got tired of the unnecessary hassle and found online platforms elsewhere on which to create and sustain their fanbase and garner loyal followers and customers for their spiritual teachings along with their spiritual products and services.
With online platforms and
apps popping up more and more every six months to a year, and with paganism and
witchcraft becoming more mainstream in society, real authentic and service-oriented witches who are interested in remaining online are no longer hard pressed to
remain on YouTube for their online presence and livelihood as they once were five
to ten years ago. Also, many have found other “witch-friendly” platforms which
are more welcoming to the content and services that they and other like-minded
witches and healers have to offer without the ever-encroaching censorship, cybertrolling
and all out attacks by lower-vibrational warlocks and crazy ass people who
obsessively compete and vie for their attention.
This has proven to be
a breath of fresh air for witches who, like myself, would like to focus solely on our life purpose and service work as an empath, a healer, and a witch without
all of the modern-day "witch hunting," shadow banning, channel flagging, content
censoring, cybertrolling, doxing, gangstalking and your other gamut of
online fuckery! *lol* 😀
