“Some Interesting Medicinal & Magickal Benefits of Burdock Root That You Should Know” (From My Sage's Corner Series)
And, I don’t know about
any of you guys, but stepping into a hospital for any kind of treatment
(short of my leg hanging off from some freak accident) during this Covid-19
pandemic is the furthest choice from my mind!
It is unfortunate,
however, for those of us who rely minimally on mainstream medical care
and are lucky enough to have no pre-existing medical conditions, yet are still
obligated to fork over several hundred dollars each month for health insurance
just to avoid being penalized by “Uncle Sam.” *sigh* Uncle Sam….That Uncle Sam
is a straight up pimp, I tell ya! And if any of you ever run into him, tell him
that Sage has a personal bone to pick with his greedy, extortionist ass!
But I digress! *smh* π
When it comes to
society’s “so-called” authority figures, I’m sure that most of us are giving
them all the dubious eye. Personally, I know that I am certainly less inclined
now more than ever to place any unvetted loyalty and trust in any of them
regarding my financial, psychological and physical well-being. But,
luckily for me, I am a highly evolved empath, spiritual practitioner and witch,
so I don’t have to! Mind you, there are some choices that are made for us on a
collective and macrocosmic level. But a little experience coupled with a lot of
wisdom have taught me that it is the decisions that are made from a more
personal and microcosmic level that have the most effect and impact on
one’s life.
This brings me to my next point, ladies and gentlemen: When it comes to choices, whether they be those made for you by you, or choices made for you by others, if you are someone who does not see yourself as spiritually gifted and equipped as a healer, practitioner or witch to make those wise decisions concerning your overall best interests, then my heartfelt advice to you is you’d better get to know one—a witch, that is!
Because, all jokes aside, the world that we are currently living in and headed towards becoming will require each of you to be knowledgeable and skilled in both the art of spiritual warfare and self-mastery in order to remain sovereign and self-empowered. That, or you will not survive the diabolical agenda that the malevolent forces that be have in store for each of us in the New World, a world that is governed by the spiritual realms and a world where most, if not everyone in today’s society (although they’ll never tell you) practices magick!
With that being said, here
are some interesting medicinal and magickal benefits of Burdock Root that you
should know about.
MEDICINAL BENEFITS OF BURDOCK ROOT:
Burdock Root can be used
to reduce fever and treat colds and flu. Ummm…emphasis on
the part about Burdock Root being useful to treat the flu! *wink* Yes! So,
instead of going to your local pharmacy to pick up that sweet, addictive syrup
that’s laced with codeine, that will have you drooling on the sofa mid-way
thru your favorite Netflix series; or, that sticky, smelly stuff that, when you
rub on your chest and throat will have you smelling like you’ve been accosted
by three old ladies in a basement full of moth balls, you can opt for a
homemade herbal salve instead that you can infuse with shavings of Burdock
Root! π
Boiling some Burdock Root
(either dry herbs or root shavings) and then steeping it for at least an hour
in order to make a medicinal tea is also very beneficial for reducing fever and
treating colds and flu. And, of course, you can make a tincture with Burdock
Root as well. I prefer to use 100 proof Vodka to make my tinctures. But I have
heard from some of my fellow brujas that Gin and Rum works just as well, as
long as the proof count is at least 80.
However, the higher the proof, the less you have to allow the tincture to “marinate,” in my witchy opinion. I typically allow my homemade tinctures to sit for 30 days. And trust me, a little goes a long way, especially for us non-partakers of “the spirits.” At least not those spirits! Can the coven say, “Oooweee!” *chuckles* π
Burdock Root can be used
to purify your blood. Yep! Because Burdock Root is an antioxidant,
it helps to remove toxins and even detoxify heavy metals from your blood. It is
also beneficial for improving the health of your internal organs rendering
Burdock Root highly useful for purifying your blood once it has become
compromised for whatever reasons. Burdock Root can also be used to manage one’s blood
pressure. However, in these cases, the internal usage of this root
rather than the topical usage would be most beneficial. Think teas, tinctures
and extracts, for example, especially the latter two which when applied under
the tongue enters your bloodstream quicker.
Burdock Root can be used to aid in fighting against diabetes. An interesting fact that many of you may not be aware of is that Burdock Root contains a natural insulin and a microbial that is a prebiotic and acts as a fiber to lower blood sugar! That’s right folks! Mother Nature gifted her inhabitants with a natural way to regulate blood sugar levels. And it’s astoundingly more affordable than synthetic insulin with minimal to no side effects!
That’s some information
that I’m sure most of you have never heard your mainstream doctors mention right?
Yep. That’s what I thought. So, I encourage you all reading this blog post to
go and do your own research on this amazing herb! You will be pleasantly
surprised as you embark upon your self-empowering journey of holistic health
& wellness.
Another great fact about Burdock Root is that its medicinal benefits are expansive, and those that I have listed here are just the tip of the iceberg. The very tippy top, and too many for me to discuss in this one post. Some of those benefits include the aiding in the relief of gastrointestinal or “tummy issues,” aiding in the relief of arthritis or joint pain issues, and assisting in the relief of skin disorders and issues such as eczema and psoriasis, for example.
However, one of the most fascinating and satisfying things about herbs that I have learned and experienced from a personal standpoint is how they are not only beneficial for medicinal purposes, but how they come in handy and are quite powerful when used for spiritual or magickal purposes as well! Below, I will discuss just a few of the magickal purposes of Burdock Root.
THE MAGICKAL PURPOSES OF
BURDOCK ROOT:
Burdock Root can be used
for protection and warding off evil/dark energies. Yes indeed! Also referred to as “Bat Root” and
“Beggar’s Buttons” among some of our indigenous witchy family, Burdock Root is
useful for protecting your homes and vehicles from all manner of issues that
could stem from negative energy, such as “the evil eye” being thrown at you and
your possessions.
It’s unfortunate that we live in a society where people are so pre-occupied and obsessed with coveting what another individual has, so much so, that instead of trying to work hard to manifest those things for themselves they’d rather exert their energy and time trying to block, destroy or take what someone else has. These individuals are truly pathetic! But the truth is that such people do exist. And if you are a prosperous and purpose-driven individual like myself then you must protect what is yours, because somewhere lurking in the shadows you have envious and spiteful people who want what you have. And if given the opportunity, they will take it! *eye roll* π
So, for those of you, like myself, who have
captured the attention of the “green-eyed monster,” carrying a charm and/or
amulet filled with Burdock Root in dried herb or grounded form (in combination
with some other protective herbs of choice) inside your purses and/or
wallets, inside your vehicles, and definitely inside your homes is the way
to go.
Many car accidents are caused by negative energy in the form of envy and resentment sent our way that was not blocked and returned to the sender(s) in time, because we did not have a protective shield around our vehicles from the very beginning. But the best defense is prevention! So, before you lay your head down tonight, or head out to run a quick errand, make sure that you have a protective amulet, sachet and/or charm in your vehicle! This is Basic Sorcery & Protection 101 ladies and gents, so get into it! π
Burdock Root is also a very
powerful magickal herb that can be used for that good ole “rootwork.”
Pun intended! In other words, sometimes as we healers, shamans, and modern-day
witches know, it is not enough to just “put up protective shields” around
ourselves and our loved ones and possessions. Sooner or later, one of those
fiery darts will penetrate because that’s just the world that we live in.
Or, in my specific case, we may be dealing with one fucking lunatic in particular with a hard-on, who has learned one stupid love spell, and who doesn’t know how to go sit his “happy dick ass” down somewhere and leave women who are “off limits” alone! And why? Because for one, he is an obsessed, emotionally-stunted retard, and for two, he doesn’t understand spiritual boundaries! And, it is cases like these ladies and gentlemen, when you have to “whip out” some Burdock Root for your Return to Sender workings to fire that ass up! *Ahh…so satisfying!* lol π
Burdock Root can also be
used to prevent others from putting “roots” on you. Or,
if you have caught on to the truth that roots have been put on you a little too
late, it can also be used to break that hex off of you. As I mentioned earlier,
in cases such as these which are definitely more serious, using Burdock Root in
all of its various forms (teas, tinctures, protective oils, sachets,
etc.) along with incorporating it into your protective cleanses/washes
and rituals such as home and vehicle washes, spiritual baths, head rinses,
candle work, etc. is highly advised.
But hey! You are reading my blog post. After all, this is a spiritual blog written by me specifically for my fellow empaths, and highly-evolved and skilled healers, magicians and witches! So, if you’re on here, you already know what to do. But I’m sure that you just may appreciate a little reminder from time to time, and one from a “fresh and unique” perspective such as mine. And, I’m glad to be of assistance! π
Burdock Root can be used
to increase sexual potency! Yes! You heard me right!
Because after engaging in all of that spiritual warfare to protect all of those
and that which we love, we are going to need a little TLC and some sexual healing!
*cue Marvin Gaye* π
Now, to all of my Scorpio
and fellow water sign witches and magicians? You all already know what’s up. So,
thou shall not give up thy sacred and sensual mysteries for free! *chuckles* “The
game” is to be sold not told…understand me? But I’ll throw you
some clues, because I like you!
Remember earlier in this
post when I reminded you that tinctures are especially potent because it hits
your blood stream faster, especially when it is applied under the tongue? Well,
incorporate that tincture with a little foreplay, along with utilizing your
Burdock Root in some of its various earth, fire, air, and water/liquid forms
for a little sex magick with your partner/spouse, and you can thank me later.
That is, after you’ve come back down to earth and have regained your
consciousness and sensory motor skills! *Let the coven say yaaaas!* π
